The optical IR remote for the
Tach Plus and the all new Tach jr.
Not just a wire but an 'intelligent',
low cost, microprocessor controlled remote
that will find many uses around
your shop and home.
The remote works to fifty feet
or more.
The ATTINY11 is available from
our Products
page.
The remote works by IR and the
sensor can work from either IR, like the
Junior and Plus, or by a hall sensor
which uses less power and is easier to
seal making it better in harsh
environments. By placing the remote in front of
the spinning shaft it sends an
IR signal in the form a of 40 khz by 600 us
burst signal to the receiver. The
receiver then sends a signal to the Plus or
Junior in the same manner as they
would read the rotating shaft without the
remote. (On the Plus it is a good
idea to cover the emitter as to not interfere
with the receiving sensor. The
Junior does not require this.)
We have included the circuit boards
details and layout for those of you capable of
making your own boards.
